Fall 2022 Natural Bridge State Park Event Details
October 29th (Rain day October 30th), 2022

Come and enjoy a day of exploring the natural and cultural wonders of Natural Bridge State Park! Event begins at 10 am and ends at 3 pm. Tours at 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm of the geology, archaeology, and biology of the park. Activities will include atl-atl throwing and flint knapping.

1.      The event at Natural Bridge State Park starts at 10:00 am in the parking lot and concludes at 3 pm

2.      The address for Natural Bridge State Park is listed as E7792 County Road C, North Freedom, Sauk County, WI., 53951, however, if you are using GPS to get there, use Natural Bridge State Park as a destination.

3.      Everyone must have either an Annual or Daily Vehicle admission Wisconsin State Park sticker. Seasonal passes can be purchased from the DNR at one of their regional offices, at another state park, or online at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/admission. Day passes are usually available at Natural Bridge State Park, but there is no ranger station so bring exact change. Plan ahead!

Vehicle with WI license Plates - $8
Vehicle with WI license plates, resident age 65 and older - $3
Vehicle with out-of-state plates - $11

4.      The event is free for members, you can become a member at the Associate level for $5 on-site or ahead of time at http://wiarcheologicalsociety.org/membership

5.      We will have the tour light rain/snow or shine. Weather in October can be unpredictable. If it is storming, we will attempt to hold the event on October 30th.  Watch Facebook for cancellation!

6.      The tours will involve light hiking (just over 1 mile roundtrip) on a maintained path.  Wear appropriate warm clothing and shoes. The park is maintained in short grass and there is a maintained path that we will be using.  On good days, tennis shoes are appropriate; certainly, hiking boots will cover any needs. I do not recommend flip flops or sandals or other flimsy shoes.

7.      The tours should last approximately 1 hour and will be given at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, and the last tour will be at 2pm.

8.      We will have tours that will focus on the archaeology, geology and biology of the area.  There will also be informative exhibits, spear throwing and stone tool making.

9.      You are free to bring family members with one membership. If you decide to bring children, please keep in mind that it is 1 hour of walking and talking and that typically, can be a rough day for little ones.
